Compare: For my current event I chose to talk about Donald Trump wanting to build the border wall. I think it fits well with the subject we talked about in class “Macrosociology”. I think they fit well together since macrosociology is the study of a large scale social structure and studying how something like a change can affect the lives of the groups and individuals in the society. The wall President Donald Trump would like to build on the border would tie into this because once the wall is built it will be affecting all of the lives of of the people that our trying to get into the United States. This wall is trying to be passed by the President and it is going to be affecting individuals and groups of people who are wanting to come start fresh in the US. The Macrosociology is coming in to this current event when it starts affecting the lives of others. It has also affected people when the government shut down due to the wall funding costing to much. When the government shut down so did the national parks which affected peoples lives and jobs. This shows how one thing can affect so many people by one change in our society.
Summary: This article talks about how Trump is planning on putting a wall on the border of the United states and Mexico. This wall is supposed to keep immigrants from coming in illegally, the idea has been passed but now Donald Trump is struggling to find the money to support the wall. This project could be potentially wasting billions of dollars and he wants to use it from the congress. The cost of this would be so much due to rough terrain and building ground. It also talks about how Trump has talked about shutting down the government if Congress does not provide funding for the wall. Since the government shutdown so did national parks which is affecting people who use them or work as park rangers.
